Tutorial: Rainbow Crayon Hearts.

Hello Deeper Than FashioniSTARS!
I know, I know, I've been m.i.a for quite some time & it is completely my fault for neglecting this blog. However, I decided to make it up to you guys, by posting a super easy DIY tutorial on how to make Rainbow Crayon Hearts :)

Some of you may have seen these tutorials online before, but I decided to do a "Malaysian"-fied version of it which makes it easier for you to get the stuff to make this.

I made these on a budget of RM10.
I kid you not, RM10!

I got crayons for Rm5 & the heart shaped silicone mold for Rm5.
Both for Daiso, Sunway Pyramid.
What you need to do is basically chop up the crayons into small bits.
I colour separated them so I could coordinate when I placed them in the mold.

I put one chunk of each colour in the molds to make sure it turns out rainbow-y :)

Then you'll need to microwave it
Most blogs recommend using a baking oven, but a microwave works just as well.

I suggest you keep a close eye on the melting process.
I did one minute per session, and keep going until it melted nicely
(You'll know because the chunks will turn into paint like substance)
& this is what it looks like right after I took it out of the microwave.
Super pretty blended colours!
But it'll be real hot, so you will need to place it in the freezer for 5 minutes.
Once you take it out of the freezer, you can pop it right out & it'll look like this;
Seriously, how pretty are these! & so cheap and easy to make!
You can use them to write as well, like normal crayons but you get a blend of rainbow colours :)

Good luck making these! (you won't need it since it's super easy anyways ;)
Have fun!

First attempt at tie dye.

I took some white tank top and turned them into rainbow masterpieces!
"Tie-dye is a process of resist dyeing textiles or clothing which is made from knit or woven fabric, usually cotton; typically using bright colors. It is a modern version of traditional dyeing methods used in many cultures throughout the world. "Tie-dye" can also describe the resulting pattern or an item which features this pattern. Tie-dyeing became fashionable in the West in the late 1960s and early 1970s as part of hippie style."
- Wikipedia.
 For my first attempt, I'm pretty damn pleased with how it turned out :)

Caviar Nails; my 2 cents.

I've been hearing a lot about Caviar nails and have been seeing them trending like mad on Tumblr, so naturally I was curious since I love nail art and decided to Google it.
 It looked pretty and simple enough to do, basically consisting of a nail polish and beads.
 These sort of beads;
 (Believe it or not I Google'd "nail art balls". Yes, beads would have been a better choice of word :P )
I attempted it on just one nail & in all honesty, as pretty as I find it, the hassle was not worth it. Firstly I had to paint my nails, the cup my heads & pour the beads in and then place my finger on it to allow it to stick on.

It wasn't as messy as I had previously assumed, however it takes forever to dry and you can't really use your hands much for daily activities as it tends to break off and fall easily.

I would suggest it for photoshoots, and if you have enough time to spare and fuss over your nails, but this trend is definitely not for people who need to use their hands.
